From the beginning of human life on earth, man searched for happiness. Civilization came one after the other and took him to a world of modern technologies. However one thing remained the same. True happiness is found only in obeying the word of God “Love your God with all your might and strength” and “Love your neighbour as yourself”. All those who practised this, found happiness in abundance.

Image 01All religions are propagating this message. According to the Holy Bible, "What God the Father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world" James 1:27. Mother Theresa practised this law through here charity work.

Marian charity bloomed out of a small prayer group in the year 2000. It is registered under Societies Act of the Government for carrying out charitable works. The main objective of the society is to rehabilitate the destitute of the streets. Be it infants, street children, mentally ill, sick or old age orphans.

With the help and encouragement of number of good people, we acquired 8 acres (32,000 Sq. meters) of land near National Highway (NH47) at Pampampallam, in Palakkad. We named this place as Marian Village. It is located midway between Coimbatore and Palakkad towns.

Our village is located in the outskirts of busy town. It is a calm and quite area with lush green surroundings at the foot of Western Ghats. The environment will be loved by the destitute and will prompt them to live a new spiritual life.

The land was developed for cultivation and provided with basic necessities for accommodating the destitute. Separate dormitories for ladies and gents, prayer hall, office building, canteen and cottages were built for accommodating around 70 inmates. We also have a dedicated team for serving the inmates. The day to day affaires of the inmates are taken care by our dedicated staff.

Image 01The destitute found on the street are brought to our village by volunteers. Our first inmate was an insane man, unable to walk, found in ragged clothes, unshaved and not taken bath for years together. He started to walk and now lead a better life. Another old lady found begging for food said the she had a Government job in a far away town till her retirement. Some how she lost her wealth and became the only member left in her family during her old age. As depicted above our inmates include infants, sick persons, ladies and gents with sorrowful backgrounds.

All the above projects were started with out any capital fund. The only capital we had was a strong faith in God. God continue to shower his blessings in our village.

We now pray that almighty God gives you necessary wealth to contribute for this noble cause. You can also sent your intentions for prayer, which will be remembered in our daily prayer.
